Dry Film Thickness 100 to 105 microns
Expected Spreading Rate 5 to 8 sq.m / kilo @ 100 to 105 microns D.F.T

@ Recommended D.F.T
Initial cure: 1 to 2 hours @ 20 °C
Hard dry: 24 hours @ 20 °C
Full cure: 5 to 7 days @ 20 °C
Low temperature and high humidity will adversely affect application, curing and performance of any coating.

Application Details

Disposable application equipment is recommended. Ensure that the correct film thickness is achieved as over applying the coating can cause imperfections in the finished film.

Application restrictions Do not apply below 5 °C.
Method Brush or Short pile roller
Thinner (Max vol) Do Not Thin.
Nozzle size N/A
Nozzle pressure N/A
Cleaning solvent Water
Recoat interval Minimum 16 hrs Maximum 72 hrs

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be laitance free, clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Existing painted surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose, flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate then prepare accordingly.

Mixing Instructions

The entire contents of the hardener tin must be added to the resin base and mixed thoroughly, preferably with a low speed drill and mixing paddle for two minutes ensuring the mixing action takes in the full depth and perimeter of the container. Badly activated or incorrectly mixed materials will affect performance and may cause early failure.

Application Conditions

Air temperature 5-30°C, Humidity 85% RH maximum, non condensing conditions.

Preceding Coat

Apply direct, can be used over most paint surfaces, if in doubt test a small area first.

Subsequent Coat

Apply at least 2 coats of WB101

questions Gary Trull on 2019-07-29 08:22:56
Question:

Can Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating be used on painted garage doors (Metal)

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Yes, before applying existing painted surfaces should be compatible, cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced.

questions Emma Bailey  on 2019-06-07 11:08:49
Question:

Hello Can your product Coo-Var WB101 Anti Graffiti coating be used on top of Acrylic paint on external brick work? Will it yellow with age and how much meter coverage can be got from one tin of 5kg of the product? Many Thanks for your time Emma

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating can be used over water based acrylic paint externally, as it’s clear it won’t yellow but it won't stop the acrylic itself yellowing if this isn't UV stable. Spreading Rate is 5-8 sqm/kg.

questions Alexandra Ghimisi on 2017-12-11 11:01:08
Question: I am a mural painter and need a product to varnish my art work. It is painted indoor with acrylic paint. I want to try your product-COO-VAR WB101 because of its properties and mainly because is off-gloss. My questions are: 1. Has it a matt finish? 2. Has it a non-yellow finish in time? 3. Can be applied on top of a gloss varnish already I've applied? 4. For how many years is it guaranteed? Thank you, Alexandra G.
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

We would advise carrying out a test for compatibility with Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K. This is available in a matt finish (Coo-Var WB101 Anti-Graffiti Coating is a glossy finish), Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K does not yellow and can be used internally and externally over various pre-painted surfaces.
