Blackfriar Aluminium Wood Primer is an aluminium wood primer for hardwoods, which prevents bleed through fresh paintwork. Specifically formulated for painting new or old bare hard or resinous woods.

Blackfriar Aluminium Wood Primer is for hardwoods, to prevent bleed through to fresh paintwork. Specifically formulated for painting new or old bare hard or resinous woods.
Preparation
Ensure surface to be coated is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, grease or any other contamination. Treat knots and resinous areas with Blackfriar Patent Knotting and allow to dry before applying Blackfriar Aluminium Wood Primer.
Application
Stir thoroughly prior to use with a broad stirrer. The product may be applied by brush, short pile roller or spray. Apply a generous even coat and brush well into the grain. Apply one or two coats as required.
Thinning
Maximum 5% white spirit.
Limitations
Do not use under cold (less than 5°C), damp or humid conditions. Oily hardwoods such as Teak or Iroko must be fully degreased with white spirit or methylated spirits prior to application of this product. Failure to do this may result in extended drying times and/or adhesion failure.
Drying Time
Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with white spirit. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Storage
Store in a dry, safe place. Do not store in environments where extreme temperatures may occur. Keep within 5-30°C. Do not store in direct sunlight.

Touch dry in 2 - 4 hours. Recoat after 16 hours and within 3 days. Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.
