Can you put oil on wood floors?
Wood oils can be applied to bare timbers and previously oiled wood floors. If the floor has been varnished, this must be removed, usually by sanding, before treating your wood floor with oil.
Oiling your wood floor puts back essential oils into the wood helping to prevent it from drying out, which can cause splits and warping and other damage.
How often should I oil my wood floors?
How often you oil wood floors depends on how much they are used; commercial timber flooring found in businesses such as shops and hotels, and services including schools and libraries, will likely have much more foot traffic than your home, for example.
