Flowcrete PU Matt (Ultra)

This 2-component polyurethane-based sealer is designed to provide a high-performance matt finish to various types of resilient floor coverings, including Flowcrete screeds and third-party surfaces. The low-gloss surface ensures a sleek finish while providing substantial wear resistance. It is perfect for commercial and industrial settings where durability and appearance are crucial.

This product is not recommended for conductive floorings where electrical conductivity is required, or for surfaces with specific patterns like knobbed safety flooring unless otherwise advised by Flowcrete Technical Services. It is unsuitable for home DIY due to the professional skill required for correct application.

Surface Preparation

Correct surface preparation is essential for achieving the best results. Existing floor surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, free from dust, oils, waxes, and other contaminants. Where necessary, abrade and matt the surface with a grey PU-renovation pad to ensure adhesion. Ensure any underfloor heating is turned off and the surface is cool before starting the application process.

Mixing and Application

The sealer comes in two components which should be mixed in a ratio of 10:1 by weight. After thoroughly shaking both components, mix them using a slow-speed drill to avoid air bubbles. The mixed product must be applied within 4 hours to avoid curing issues. Use a paint tray and a high-quality microfiber roller for an even, bubble-free application. For best results, apply two coats with a drying period of at least 2 hours between coats.

Drying and Curing Time

Under ideal conditions (15-25°C and 30-75% relative humidity), the surface will be ready for light foot traffic after 12-14 hours and fully cured after 7 days. Higher humidity levels may extend curing times. During curing, ensure the area is well-ventilated but protected from direct sunlight and drafts.

Limitations and Restrictions

This product should not be used on surfaces exposed to severe mechanical damage, as this can accelerate wear. Avoid contact with intensively coloured substances such as hair dyes, as these can cause irreversible staining. If such risk exists, consider using Flowseal PU Anti-Stain instead.

Health and Safety

This product contains isocyanates and may cause an allergic reaction. Proper protective equipment, such as gloves, safety goggles, and respiratory protection, should be worn during application.
