Ardex S 7 Plus Waterproof Coating

This flexible waterproofing coating is designed to create a durable and watertight layer on floors and walls before tiling. It is ideal for swimming pools, providing a high-performance solution that withstands water pressure up to 5 bar. The product is fibre-reinforced, ensuring increased strength and flexibility, and is applied in two coats to achieve a seamless protective barrier.

Application Areas

• Swimming pools (internal and external)
• Concrete and cement-based substrates
• Renders, screeds, and well-adhered Marbelite surfaces
• Floors and walls requiring waterproofing before tiling

Surface Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are mature, stable, and free from contaminants. Any existing coatings, including chlorinated rubber paint, should be removed using mechanical methods. High-pressure water jetting or sand/water jetting should be used on Marbelite surfaces to reveal a clean base.

Mixing and Application

Mix one 15kg bag with 4 litres of water using a mechanical mixer for best consistency. The product has a pot life of approximately 60 minutes at 20°C. Apply the first coat using a notched trowel, then smooth the ridges. Once hardened (after approximately 4 hours), apply the second coat in the same manner. Ensure movement joints are continued through the waterproof layer to the tiling surface.

Drying Time and Tile Fixing

The second coat of this waterproofing system dries within 4 hours, allowing tiles to be fixed shortly after. Ensure compliance with BS 5385-4 guidelines for swimming pool installations. Use an appropriate ARDEX tile adhesive and grout for best performance.

Limitations and Precautions

• Do not use primers or diluted product before the first coat.
• Not suitable for direct application over movement joints without proper preparation.
• Ensure a minimum dried thickness of 1.5mm across the entire surface.
• Store in a dry place to prevent premature activation.

Health and Safety

This product contains Portland cement, which may cause skin irritation and serious eye damage. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and wear protective gloves and eye protection. Do not inhale dust. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention. The product does not contain Diisocyanates. Not classified as hazardous for transport (UN number not applicable).
