Thermoguard Wallcoat 60, 90 & 120 Minute System for Concrete is a coloured intumescent paint system for interior fire rated concrete surfaces requiring an additional 30mins fire resistance - not subject to traffic. These packs have been created to help users ensure they are purchasing sufficient product for their project. Each pack contains the correct amount of basecoat (Wallcoat) and topcoat (Thermoguard Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat) to ensure protection is achieved in line with the manufacturers recommendations to the respective area in question.

System (Interior Use Only)

To achieve 60, 90 or 120mins + BS EN Class B s1 d0 and Class 0 to sound concrete unpainted or painted with sound, firmly adhering* paint systems;

• Apply 2 coats of Thermoguard Wallcoat @ 4m² per kg/per coat

Followed by;

• 1 coat** of Thermoguard Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat Satin or Matt

**2 coats of Thermoguard Wallcoat Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat may be required for strong/dark colours - Thermoguard Wallcoat will be provided in a suitable undercoat shade to aid topcoat opacity unless instructed otherwise.

Hard or smooth paints must be thoroughly abraded to provide a key. Ensure surfaces are dry & free from contamination.

Fire certificate issued upon completion FREE – apply HERE

IMPORTANT - The below information from the manufacturer must be read and referred to your relevant authority for approval BEFORE purchase and use.

In line with good common practice, we recommend that approval be sought for the use of our system, outlining our justification for the issuing of the Fire Certificate prior to the product’s use.

We issue a 120 min Fire Certificate to upgrade 90 min fire–rated concrete, 90 mins for 60 min fire-rated concrete and 60 mins to 30 min fire-rated concrete using the specification above, based on the evidence below.

Wallcoat Intumescent Paint added minimum 30 mins Fire Resistance to 10mm and 12.5mm cementitious board and to 12.5mm plasterboard in a 90 min indicative UKAS Fire Test Laboratory.

In all cases 25mm MDF was located 70mm behind the cement boards or plasterboards. Temperatures were monitored on the protected face (facing away from the furnace) of the MDF, and char damage to the side of MDF facing the plasterboard or cement board was measured following the 90 min Fire Test. Charred damage was 10 >12mm, indicating unprotected exposure to fire of 15 > 20 mins during the 90 min period. Insulation was maintained for 60 mins.
