Features & Benefits

  • A high performance solvent based polyurethane acrylic
  • Resists grease, oil and solutions of acid and alkali
  • Ideal for Indoor and outdoor high traffic areas
  • Minimises disruption due to rapid drying time - vehicular traffic can use after just 3 days
  • Brush or roller application
  • Can be applied over concrete, metal, brickwork and stone
  • Can be tinted to BS, RAL and NCS colours

Preparation

Ensure the surface to be painted is sound, clean, dry and free from grease or any substance liable to give adhesion problems. Scrape off any old or flaking paint until you have a firm surface. Special attention should be given to areas under cars to ensure all oil, grease, dirt and road salt is removed. Prepared surfaces with residual oil contamination should be primed with Blackfriar Professional Oil Tolerant Primer. New concrete must be left for at least 6 months before applying Blackfriar Professional High Traffic Floor Paint. Power-floated floors should either be blast tracked or treated with Blackfriar Professional Acid Etch followed by thorough rinsing. New or exposed bare concrete should be primed with Blackfriar Professional Epoxy Floor Primer.

Mixing

Base and activator are supplied in correct proportions. Add all activator to base container and mix thoroughly for at least 5 minutes until product is smooth and even. Allow to rest 5 minutes before using. DO NOT MIX PART UNITS. Badly activated or incorrectly mixed materials will affect performance and may cause early failure or discolouration. The mixed material has a usable pot life of 6 hours at 20°C.

Application

Apply with a good quality medium pile roller - smaller areas may be brushed.

Limitations

Not suitable for spray. Blackfriar Professional High Traffic Floor Paint is not suitable for use over PVC, thermoplastic tiles, quarry tiles or granolithic concrete. Do not apply it on concrete surfaces treated with alkali containing liquids, areas subjected to rising damp or areas treated with PVA bonding solutions. If applying over single pack conventional floor paint the existing coating must be aged and fully cured. Surfaces may be slippery when wet. To ensure slip resistance the floor must be kept dry when in use. The use of protective mats will help preserve the surface under tyres.
