Teamac Mordant Solution - T Wash

Teamac Mordant Solution is a specialised, single-pack etching agent designed to prepare galvanised surfaces for painting. This acidic solution, containing a copper salt, reacts with zinc surfaces, creating a more adhesive surface for paints that otherwise might not adhere well. The solution is available in a blue colour, which changes to grey after application, indicating that the surface is ready for subsequent coatings.

Application and Usage

This solution is ideal for use on both new and weathered galvanised surfaces. For best results, it should be applied within seven days of galvanising. Weathered galvanised surfaces can also be treated, although the reactivity of the solution may diminish with the age of the galvanising, potentially leading to uneven coloration. It is crucial to apply the product only to clean, degreased, and uncontaminated surfaces. If the galvanised surface shows no colour change upon application, this may indicate contamination, and additional surface preparation will be necessary.
