Coo-Var Floorpack Concrete Repair Mortar
This two-component epoxy mortar is designed for repairing concrete and other surfaces subjected to high levels of impact, abrasion, and chemical exposure. Its solvent-free formula allows for use in damp and cold environments, making it an ideal solution for difficult repair tasks. The product offers excellent curing even in low temperatures, delivering a durable and smooth finish.
Application Areas
The product is perfect for use on concrete, asphalt, and grano surfaces. Typical applications include filling large voids in concrete beams, precast units, floors, and runways. Its heavy-duty nature makes it particularly suitable for industrial settings where surfaces face constant impact, abrasion, or exposure to chemicals.
Surface Preparation
For optimal adhesion, ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, or contaminants. Concrete surfaces should be at least 3-4 weeks old before application, and laitance should be removed. For metal surfaces, sandblasting or wire brushing is recommended, followed by degreasing. If needed, priming the surface with Coo-Var GP Thinners Q265/1S can enhance penetration and bonding.
Mixing and Application
Mix equal parts of the mortar base and hardener until the final colour is an even grey. Smaller quantities are recommended for economical use, as larger batches may set faster. Once mixed, apply the mortar directly to the prepared surface and pack it well into any uneven areas. A smooth finish can be achieved by wiping the trowel with a cloth moistened in GP Thinners. The product can be applied in temperatures ranging from 5°C to 30°C and should be applied in layers for thicker coverage.
Limitations and Precautions
- Do not apply the product to surfaces below 5°C.
- Avoid using the product in direct contact with foodstuffs or utensils.
- Ensure proper ventilation during use and wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles.
- The product should not be washed off with cleaning solvents; always use water and soap to clean skin.
- Store the product in its original container, tightly sealed, and away from incompatible substances such as acids.
Recommended Companion Products
For best results, use Coo-Var GP Thinners as a primer and cleaning solution during the application process. Ensure all tools are cleaned immediately after use to maintain their condition and prevent unwanted curing.
