Is this product the right one for painting the smooth stone surrounds to the windows and door on a terrace property ?

Although this product can be used on suitably prepared smooth, stone surfaces, we would advise against using on a window sill because it's not suitable for standing/pooling water.

Hi. I have patched a sand and cement rendered wall with TOUPRET Masonry Repair Filler and will be painting over the top with ap77. Please can you advise if a sealer / primer is required. Many thanks.

Assuming the existing substrate is clean, dry and sound prior to application, and is prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, we'd recommend 2 coats of Wethertex AP77 to be applied, with the first coat thinned by 5 to 10% with clean water when applying to a porous substrate, to prime and seal before an undiluted second coat to finish. We'd recommend to apply a small test patch area firstly over the existing surface, to ensure compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.

We have stone window surrounds..and rendered external walls..painted white no idea what paint used..the surrounds are sandstone...does the silicone technology also make sandstone surface thermally better...and could mix additive (minute glass bubbles ) to increase warmth inside to stop condensation forming on cold stone..secondly would I have test current Masonry paint

Assuming the susbtrate is clean, dry and sound, and is prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, this product would help with the waterproofing because it stops water penetration, allowing the house to remain warmer to a certain degree, however by how much we can't state for certain. This would also depend on the current thickness of the existing coating. Glass Bubbles may also help, however by how much we can't say for certain. As we are dealing with a thin coat, any improvement on thermal properties would likely be minimal.

Is this any good to re-paint a park home exterior and if yes would it resist mould and mildew penetration. Thank you.

Assuming the substrate is previously painted, and is prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, this product will be fine for application. It is developed with optilife silicone technology to provide long term protection and piece of mind, allowing the substrate to be highly breathable and self cleaning, whilst being ultra waterproof and algae resistant. If the existing substrate is affected currently by bacterial, algae or fungal growth, we'd recommended this should be treated with Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash prior to use. We advise to test on a small area for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.

Assuming the substrate is prepared as detailed in the application instructions, this product is suitable for application over most existing coatings, with 2 coats recommended. We'd suggest applying to a small test area firstly to ensure compatibility.

Can this be used on cement fibre board (not cladding). If so, what if any preparation is needed?

Assuming you have suitably cleaned and degreased the substrate in accordance with the technical datasheet and the surface is dry prior to applciation, this product will be fine, however the system could be prone to cracking due to a thin film. We'd recommend filling the joints with an acrylic mastic, applying a scrim tape over the joints prior to application of 3 coats of Wethertex AP77 Flexible Smooth Masonry Paint with the first coat thinned 10% with clean water. This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a matt finish.

Please advise on coverage/M2 on new Render work.

The coverage rate for this product is 4 to 15m² per litre per coat. On new cement based render assuming it is smooth you could expect to acheive approximately 6 to 8m² per litre for the first coat and 10 to 12m² with the second.

Can this be used on Lime render?

This product isn't suitable for use on Lime Render substrates. Assuming the lime render is clean, dry and sound we can recommend 2 coats of Keim Soldalit-ME , with a coat of Keim Soldalit Fixativ onto any bare areas first.

Hi. I can not see anywhere how long you should leave between coats, can you just over coat with the second coat once touch dry?

You should allow 2 to 4 hours between coats.

Hello, Do you do tester pots/samples if your masonry paints?

Unfortunately many of the manufacturers do not produce samples, but Keim Colour Samples or Graphenstone Samples are available along with Colour Sample Sachets in a generic paint to aid choosing a suitable RAL, NCS or BS colour.

Unfortunately no, a masonry paint would not be suitable for this application. Assuming the concrete pond walls are bare, they are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Teamac Chlorvar Chlorinated Rubber Paint . The bare concrete must be treated prior to application with Coo-Var Acid Etch . The first coat of paint must be thinned 10% with Teamac Thinner 15 then 2 further coats applied unthinned. This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a gloss finish. Please note the pond must be left 14 days prior to refilling.

No this should be used externally, you could consider Wethertex MS11 Multi-Surface Renovation Paint . This can be used internally or externally on many substrates. This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS of BS colours in a satin finish.

How many coats do you recommend when painting over existing non-silicone masonry paint?

Two coats would be recommended when applied to a clean, dry, sound previously painted substrate prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet. The walls should be washed prior to application and Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash used to remove any algal or fungal growth.
