Buildings with decorative ceilings (or ceilings made from lath and plaster) can be difficult to add fire protection to. One way is to protect from above, using underfloor fire barriers underneath floorboards from the next floor up.

Underfloor fire barriers sit between joists and help prevent fires from penetration into spaces above, allowing extra time for evacuation and potentially saving buildings, properties and businesses from further expensive fire damage.
