Waxing wood tabletops, worktops, and desks is an easy way to provide protection as well as enhance the look of the grain and tone. Using wax on wood countertops and workstations seals the wood against spills and liquid damage, for when you tip a cup of coffee over at work or turn the kitchen sink tap on too strong. Osmo Wood Wax, one of our preferred products, is resistant to wine, beer, cola, tea, fruit juice, milk and water. Its microporous, will not crack, peel, flake or blister, and the dry finish is safe for humans, making it ideal for use on worktops and tables where food may be eaten. You won’t need strip the old wax off of the surface when you want to reapply protection, simply clean it down and allow to dry before applying.

Upcycling an old desk will save a lot of money over buying one brand new, plus you’ll be saving valuable resources from landfill. Old and worn wood surfaces can be stripped down, removing old varnish or paint, with wax providing a protective and decorative finish that will last years. Osmo Wood Wax is available with opaque colours that you can use to completely transform desks and worktops into fun and vibrant spaces that are ideal for children in schools, art classes, etc.
