    Application

    • The substrate must be dry, firm, well adhered, even and free of any impurities that could hinder the perfect bonding of the product
    • Any organic growth and/or other impurities should be removed by thorough cleaning using specific products for this purpose
    • Depending on the nature of the surface, the actions prior to application of the mortar vary as follows:
      • If the substrate has poor adhesion, brush and apply Minerseal diluted 3:1 with water
      • If the substrate has salt deposits, brush and apply Neutralysal
      • On substrates without porosity, apply Contak
    • Pour off the surface water from the Kalgraphin container (do not throw away). Mix the contents of the bag with the remaining contents of the Kalgraphin container. Depending on the desired consistency, add the removed water, never more than 750ml or 25 Fl.oz. Mechanically mix until homogeneous and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before application
    • Apply manually in an even manner. Finish according to the required function: with toothed trowel to bond tiles, SATE, etc. or brushed / scratched to apply finishing mortar afterwards. Recommended working thickness: 1-5mm with a trowl and up to 10mm with toothed trowel per day
    • If there are substrates of a different nature, reinforcing meshes should be used
    • Clean tools after use with warm water
    • Dries in 24-48 hours between layers of mortar, 24 hours for its protection, 4 days for Graphenstone® painting or at least 7 days of drying after adhesion of tiles, SATE, etc. (in conditions of 25oC and 60% relative humidity)
    • The carbonation process occurs after the first 30 days from initial application

    Limitations

    • Do not drench the substrate before application, only lightly moisten if very dry
    • Be careful not to add too much water into the mix
    • Do not water for hardening, the product hardens by absorbing CO2 in the atmosphere
    • It is recommended to protect the treated surface from rain for at least 4 days before initial application
    • If left unpainted it is recommended to protect with Minerseal. In very humid or highly polluted areas, Hydroxeal is recommended to minimise water absorption
    • Parts that are not going to be treated must be protected (glass, wood, etc.)
    • Do not mix with other brands to maintain product efficacy
