    Axalta Plicote HB Finish is a highly durable acrylated rubber coating that is suitable for direct application onto suitably prepared exterior masonry and Plastisol cladding, where the product offers anti-carbonation properties and a reduction in the ingress of water and chlorine ions.

    • Can be used for overcoating surfaces previously painted with acrylated rubber coatings
    • Conforms to Category (c) of Directive 2004/42/EC which carries a VOC limit of 430g/l
    • Finish coat with over 400 colours available from RAL and BS
    • Please note that this product is subject to a minimum order size of 200 litres (40 x 5lt)

    Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation



    Surface Preparation


    • All surfaces to be coated should be dry and cleaned as necessary to remove all oil, grease, salts, weld flux or other contamination. Where necessary, remove weld spatter and grind smooth all sharp edges and weld seams
    • Masonry: seal unsound or uncoated substrates with Stormcote Stabilising Sealer. Apply two full coats of Plicote HB Finish
    • Plastisol cladding: Prepare any bare metal areas to St2 standard minimum and spot prime with Speedspray QDH Primer, before applying Plicote HB Finish
      • HP200 (leather-grain type): if fresh, solvent wash with White Spirit to remove surface deposits. If weathered – no solvent washing required
      • HPS200 (dimpled type): not recommended, use instead ViterClad 50



    Mixing


    Must be mixed thoroughly by using a mechanical agitator before use.

    Agitate periodically to ensure paint remains homogeneous.



    Thinner / Cleaner


    Axalta Thinner General Industrial TH004 (formerly called No.7 Thinner)



    Application Conditions


    Only apply in conditions of good ventilation which must be maintained during drying and curing. Do not apply when rain, mist, sleet or snow are imminent.

    During application and drying time of the paint coating, the surface should be dry, the Relative Humidity should not exceed 85% and the steel temperature should remain at least 3℃ above the dew point. Paint temperature should ideally be at a minimum of 15℃.

    • Airless Spray: Output fluid pressure at tip 2000-2500 psi, Tip Size 17-19 thou (0.43-0.48 mm). Thin up to 5% if required
    • Conventional spray – thin up to 10% if required

    Product Notes


    • Do not allow contact of oils or solvents as these will soften the coating
    • This coating has not been tested to the standard of the new regulation 7(2) of the Building Regulations 2010, which came into force in Dec 2018
