Description

Thermoguard Safewood Anti-Viral Fire Protection System contains the correct quantities of Thermoguard Safewood Insulating Basecoat and Thermoguard Safewood Anti-Viral Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat for 20m², 40m² and 80m² coverage respectively, with specifications for interior and exterior surfaces.

Thermoguard Safewood is an anti-viral fire protection paint for wood that kills Coronaviruses, Flu Viruses & Bacteria fast after landing on wood protected with Safewood.

Durable wear, weather and wash resistant fire protection paint for decorative interior and exterior timber - when exposed to fire, Thermoguard Safewood Anti-Viral Smoke & Flame Retardant Topcoat emits a safe fire-damping vapour to control flamespread and suppress smoke.

Coronaviruses, and Flu viruses can make painted walls and wood contagious for one or more weeks. Bacteria can breed and colonise on painted walls and wood.

Wood coated protected by Thermoguard Safewood rapidly accelerate the death of Corona & Flu viruses, help prevent bacteria colonisation and eradicationof harmful bacteria.

Multiple coats of different paint types and brands can cause a flamespread risk as well as wood. Insulation foam installed in modern buildings has been revealed to be highly flammable and release cyanide gas, making control of flamespread more important than ever. For years common Flame Retardant Paints contained Timonox Antimony, which releases lethal antimony-chloride gas. Thermoguard  Safewood protects against all of these risks.

LRV Explained

What is LRV?

Light Reflectance Value is the acronym referring to the lightness and darkness of colours, running on a scale from 0% to 100% that increases with the light in a colour.

LRV is commonly confused with "intensity", which actually refers to how vivid or dull a colour is.

Why is LRV important?

LRV is vital for contractors and designers working with care homes, hospitals and other healthcare facilities used by patients suffering from colour blindness, visual impairments or dementia. Using colours that are distinct from another will help aid navigation and can improve mood.

Using clear and high level contrasting colours will help patients distinguish between walls and ceilings, seating, doors and other surfaces. The best way to measure contrast is with the LRV, with at least 30 point difference between colours on adjoining surfaces, helping meet legal requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

questions Richard Flintoft on 2022-04-23 10:07:33
Question:

How long does this treatment last before it is inaffective

Answer:

This system will retain the level of fire protection assuming the coating is not damaged.

If the area protected is subject to wear or damage it should be regularly maintained.

questions John wischhusen  on 2021-04-21 08:39:45
Question:

Can this be used on a decorated finish or does the door need to be sanded back to bare wood. Kind regards John Wischhusen

Answer:

This system can achieve a Class 0 level of Fire Protection, we would recommend testing for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application on previously applied coatings.

If you require any other level of Fire Protection please contact our Technical Team on 0113 2455450 option 2.
