Sika SikaScreed Rapid-75 is a polymer modified, rapid-setting, load bearing and over-coatable, horizontal levelling mortar that is designed for application in a minimum layer thickness of 12 mm.
It is shrinkage compensated, plus it has high abrasion resistance and compressive strength.
Features and Benefits
Sika SikaScreed Rapid-75 is a polymer modified, rapid setting, load bearing and over-coatable, horizontal levelling mortar that is designed for application in a minimum layer thickness of 12 mm. It is shrinkage compensated, plus it has high abrasion resistance and compressive strength.
As a fast setting cementitious floor levelling mortar, SikaScreed Rapid-75 is a floor screed to form ramps, level or raise concrete floors at a thickness between 12–75mm in one working step. Useable as screed for industrial service conditions on it's own but especially when sealed with a PU or EP resin top coat from medium to high load (heavy-traffic + forklift pallet truck with impact load).
Useable as screed for exterior and interior areas.

Substrate Quality & Pre-treatment
The concrete substrate must be sound and of sufficient compressive strength (> 25 N/mm²) with a minimum pull off strength of 1.5 N/mm². The surface must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants, e.g. dirt, oils, grease, coatings and surface treatments, etc.
Weak concrete must be removed and surface defects such as blow holes and voids must be fully exposed.
Cement laitance, paints or other surface treatment agents must be completely removed. Suitable methods for surface preparation are high pressure water jetting or abrasive blast cleaning.
Other pre-treatments such as scarifying, milling, etc. must also have a subsequent pass with water jet/blast to eliminate the remaining structural faults, this to remove cement laitance and achieve an open and sound textured surface. Prerequisite for a good bond between the substrate and SikaScreed Rapid-75 is an appropriate roughness of the substrate. The mean surface roughness should be as large as possible, but at least 1mm.
Repairs to the substrate, filling of blowholes/voids must be carried out using appropriate products from the Sika MonoTop, Sikafloor, SikaDur and Sikagard range of materials. All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product, preferably by brush and/or vacuum. Dewpoint: Beware of condensation!
The substrate and uncured floor must be at least 3°C above dew point to reduce the risk of condensation, blooming or laitance on the floor finish. For areas with high mechanical forces acting upon the floor as resin bonding bridge use SikaScreed-20EBB (wet on wet method) on dry or matt damp substrates. Alternative: If the mechanical load is lighter, the substrate is strong and has a sufficiently rough texture, SikaScree Rapid-75 can be applied directly onto the substrate.
Avoid bubbles by dampening the substrate until a SSD (Saturated Substrate Dry) condition is achieved. If in doubt apply a test area first.
Mixing
SikaScreed Rapid-75 levelling mortar: 2.5-2.9 litres of water per 25kg bag. In a suitable container, mix the SikaScreed Rapid-75 and water in the specified ratio with an electric mixer (maximum 500 rpm.) until it is smooth and homogeneous. It is important to mix for minimum 3 minutes.
Application
Mix the SikaScreed Rapid-75 in a paddle mixer and apply on the correctly prepared substrate and screed off to level with battens. To obtain optimum surface strength, finish the SikaScreed Rapid-75 with suitable trowels or floats.
Do not use heavy troweling machines (like sit up power floating machines). Spraying of water onto the surface as treatment is strongly prohibited and lead to less surface strength. Don´t forget curing!
Curing must start immediately after the last finishing operation, using polyethylene sheet. In drafty areas, open spaces, and in a very dry climate, the freshly applied mortar immediately has to be covered with a polyethylene sheet (before finishing).
Don´t apply SikaScreed Rapid-75 in a summery climate direct in the sunlight. When expected temperatures are above +25°C, the start application must be after reaching the daily maximum temperature. The substrate, the dry mortar (bags) and the water must be kept cool.
