Finishes & Examples

Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish is available in a clear or coloured finish, in dead flat or satin. Please note: Any colours shown are representations and should be used as guidance only. Colours when applied will vary according to the material they are used on.

Application

All surfaces must be clean and free from dust, dirt, oil and contamination. Ensure the product is well mixed but do not shake. Apply sparingly, brush out well using a good quality brush. Apply the first coat and allow to dry. Apply a second coat. On new wood and porous surfaces dilute the first coat 10% with water. Lightly sand wood in between applications to remove any raising of the grain that may have occurred. For a high level of durability and stain resistance, apply two coats of clear satin and one coat of clear dead flat.

CLEAR: apply a second coat.

COLOURS: For a deeper colour apply a second coat. If the colour is correct on the first coat, the finish and durability can be greatly enhanced by applying the second coat in clear

For increased durability and stain resistance first apply 2 coats of Wax Finish Varnish followed by 1 coats of Wax Finish Varnish Dead Flat. This will result in a slightly brighter finish than using Wax Finish Varnish Dead Flat only.

Approx. 15 sq. m per litre coverage. Clean tools/equipment with warm soapy water, rinse well with clean water, allow to dry naturally. Protect the finish from water and steam for 5 Days after application.

Limitations

• Always apply to a test area before starting work
• Appearance may vary according to the colour and type of wood and the number of coats.
• Do not apply over oil based finishes
