Application & Installation

QuelStop CE Marked HPE Graphite Sealant can also be used as a linear joint seal in which cases, a mineral wool or PE backing rod, can be used as a backing material to ensure the correct depth of QuelStop CE Marked HPE Graphite Sealant is applied in order to achieve the required performance.

All surfaces must be clean and free of any bond breaking contamination prior to application of the sealant.

The sealant should not be applied if the ambient temperature is below 5°C or above 40°C, as the adhesion may be impaired.

The QuelStop Intumescent HPE Graphite Sealant should be installed to the correct annulus and depth which depends on the penetrating services / material specification. The total annular space should be filled with compacted QuelStop HPE Sealant which is applied through the use of a standard sealant gun and once applied should be lightly compacted and smoothed off with a spatula to produce a professional and neat finish.
