Teamac High Performance Polyurethane Topcoat (previously known as Teamac P101 High Performance Finish and Teamac High Performance Marine Gloss) is an aliphatic, 2 pack polyurethane topcoat that is light stable so will not fade or yellow when exposed to high levels of ultra violet light. It is used as a coating that will not support fungus growth and is easily cleaned of surface contaminants. Ideal for marine applications on GRP, wood, ferro concrete and suitably primed metals. It can be used over compatible water based paints but is not recommended for use over conventional single pack solvent based paints.
The product is supplied in two containers: one larger than the other and labelled Base. The other smaller one labelled Hardener. The contents of the pack marked Hardener are added to the contents of the larger pack marked Base and thoroughly mixed together, preferably by slow speed electric mixer for 2 minutes or until thoroughly mixed. Failure to mix the material correctly will lead to uncured areas in the coating.
Apply between 5 to 30°C by brush or short nap mohair roller.
This product can also be spray applied in approved conditions.
When brush or roller applied at ambient temperatures - these products do not emit free Isocyanate at above levels recommended by C.O.S.H.H. Regulations. However, the protective measures shown on the product labels and safety data sheets must be followed.

Hi, I’m considering using this product to coat nylon fabric on a skin -on-frame kayak. Required to be abrasion resistant, UV resistant and flexible. Any past experience or comments?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product would not be suitable for this application unfortunately.

Can this product be used to seal crazed gelcoat on a dinghy deck ? Will it penetrate and bind to the grp substrate ? Is a primer needed ? The cracks are not hairline but are not wide. They are too extensive to consider re gelcoating. Thank you.
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the crazing is not deeper than 1mm, we have customers that have success with the following system. If crazing is deeper than 1mm then you would need to re-gelcoat.
Thoroughly clean all surfaces and apply Teamac 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer to the crazes and allow to dry overnight. Sand, then clean down and apply a further coat of Teamac 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer, sand again once dry and then apply 2 coats to all areas of Teamac P101 High Performance Finish in the desired colour.
Teamac 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer, is a two pack, high performing epoxy zinc phosphate primer for application to steel which is clean and free from scale and/or rust.
For application to blast cleaned and other suitably prepared steel surfaces
Dry to recoat in as little as 2 - 4 hours
Up to 12 square metres per litre coverage
