Coo-Var Polyurethane Varnish is a single pack varnish of exceptional durability based on urethane alkyd. Coo-Var Polyurethane Varnish is intended for interior use only and is available in matt, eggshell and gloss finishes. Perfect for kitchen furniture, worktops and internal doors.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. New wood should be sanded prior to coating to ensure an adequate "key" is produced.Existing painted surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose, flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate then prepare accordingly.
Mixing Instructions
Ensure no sediment is left on the bottom of the can and that the product is thouroughly mixed. This is required to ensure a consistent sheen level throughout the application.
Application Conditions
As dictated by normal good painting practice. In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

If applying this to a floor which has been sanded back to bare wood do I need to sand between coats? Thank you

Can i use the Polyutethane varnish over painted stairs as a protective coat? They stairs have been painted using Dulux Trade Satinwood White paint. I just want to protect the paint from chipping off under impact. Stairs are internal. Thanks John

Assuming you test a small area prior to full application for compatability this could be used in this application.
