Blackfriar High Performance Undercoat is a high build undercoat with good obliterating properties. Suitable for use as an `intermediate coat` between primer and finishing coats on most common substrates. Ideal for wood, plaster and metal. A slightly structured coating with good leveling and covering properties.
- Excellent obliteration.
- Ideal foundation for finished coat.
- Interior and exterior use.
- Ideal for wood, metal and plaster.
Blackfriar High Performance Undercoat provides the ideal foundation prior to the application of the finishing coat of paint. It has excellent obliteration and filling properties and covers light marks. Use it inside and out, and on wood, metal, plaster and all normal surfaces for a perfect finish.
Ensure surface to be coated is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, grease or any other contamination. Previously painted surfaces in sound condition should be abraded and degreased prior to application of Blackfriar Undercoat. Remove any rust and abrade back to a clean bright surface before priming with Blackfriar Anti-Rust Primer. New or other bare surfaces should be primed with the appropriate Blackfriar primer followed by a coat of Blackfriar Undercoat.
Stir thoroughly prior to use with a broad stirrer. The product may be applied by brush, roller or spray.
Do not use under cold (less than 5°C), damp or humid conditions. Ensure knots are sealed with Blackfriar Patent Knotting Solution.
Touch dry in 2 - 4 hours. Recoat after 16 hours and within 3 days. Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.
Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with white spirit. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
Store in a dry, safe place. Do not store in environments where extreme temperatures may occur. Keep within 5-30°C. Do not store in direct sunlight.
