Rust-Oleum Mathys Dac Hydro D is a high build, waterborne acrylic pitched roof coating that renovates and protects in a durable way concrete and terracotta roof tiles. It provides excellent resistance against weathering and a particularly aesthetic and durable decorative finish which breathes, is flexible and adheres to most mineral substrates.
Features & Benefits
Surface Preparation
After a good cleaning with pure water under high pressure (200 bars), all substrates have to be dry, clean, not chalking and normally absorbent (untreated roof tiles). For very closed substrates like varnished or enamelled tiles, an adhesion coat of Rust-Oleum Mathys Noxyde diluted with 25% water should be applied. For all other substrates: corrugated asbestos cement sheets, concrete tiles of the Redland type and all weathered and/or very absorbent substrates, it is necessary to apply an adhesion coat of Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS. It is recommended to perform an adhesion test prior to use and it is not advisable to apply Rust-Oleum Mathys Dac Hydro D on artificial slates type “Eternit”.
Directions for Use
To ensure homogeneity, coating materials should be thoroughly stirred prior to use.
Application & Thinning
Application Conditions
Temperature of air, substrate and coating material must be above 8°C and relative humidity below 80%. The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point.
Remarks
Apply in 2 coats to avoid local gloss differences.
