![]() | Question: Do you have any (multiple?) data on longevity of the glow from your luminous paint product please? E.g. After exposure to 100,000 lux (direct summer sunlight) for 4 hours, the paint is luminous at greater than 100 lux for 8 hours and then reduces at a rate of 10 lux per hour thereafter. |
Answer: The particular type of luminous pigment used in Coo-Var Luminous Paint is fully charged almost instantaneously (probably less than 1 second) when exposed to northern daylight. Charging will take a little longer at reduced light levels, with both natural and artificial light. The afterglow lasts between 15 to 25 minutes, usually, if fully charged. At the later stages, perception of the afterglow will depend on the eye becoming accustomed to the darkness. Coo-Var Luminous Paint is intended to be used where there is the potential for a sudden loss of light, as a possible result of a power failure to lighting in areas without daylight. Its use outside at night would be limited because it would be fully discharged during twilight, as day progresses through to night-time, without being energised with a light source. | |
