Though metal consumer units are non-combustible, components such as wires and conduits that lead into the unit are flammable and prone to overheating. By using Envirograf Electrical Unit Protection SCU Intumescent Strips and Sleeves to seal the entry points for these components, any breakout of fire will be contained within the unit. The intumescent coating expands during a fire to seal entry points shut and keeping fire and smoke contained within an Electrical Consumer Unit.

The strips and sleeves are easy to trim to size, and cut to allow services to pass through.

Electrical consumer units are a distribution board that contain components and devices such as circuit breakers, fuses and switches at the point of entry in a domestic home, commercial office or service, and industrial units like workshops and factories.
