Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Class 1/0 & EN Class B System for Wood (Exterior) is a fire protection system designed for coating exterior wooden surfaces and structures.
All packs available in Matt, Satin or Gloss finish.
The Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Class 1/0 & EN Class B System for Wood (Exterior) offers a clear coating; suitable for upgrading new and already coated EXTERNAL timber and wood related surfaces to BS476: Part 6 & 7, Class 0 & 1, UK Building Regulations, also EU EN SBI Test to A1-B/S1/d0 of European Standards, EN13505, EN13823:2002 Single Burn and SBI EN11925:2 2002 Ignitability.
Envirograf ES/VFR Primer - A water-based clear primer to apply over existing paint, varnish or wood stain surfaces before applying subsequent compatible fire protection systems to improve compatibility and adhesion with various substrates.
Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Fire Protection Coating - A clear coating suitable for upgrading new and already coated timber and wood related surfaces to BS476: Part 6 & 7, Class 0 & 1, UK Building Regulations, also EU EN SBI Test to A1-B/S1/d0 of European Standards, EN13505, EN13823:2002 Single Burn and SBI EN11925:2 2002 Ignitability.
Envirograf HW Superb Clear Top Coat - A tough, long lasting, solvent based top coat that offers a superb robust and easy to clean surface. This coating is available with extra UV protection if required and is available in Matt, Satin or Gloss finishes.
Coat No.1 - apply 1 coat of Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Primer @ 10-12m²
Coat No.2 & 3 – apply 2 coats of Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Fire Protection Coating @ 10m² per litre/per coat
Coat No.4 & 5 – apply 2 coats of Envirograf HW Superb Clear Top Coat @ 10-12m² per litre/per coat
IMPORTANT: IT MUST NEVER BE LEFT OVERNIGHT WITHOUT APPLYING THE TOP COAT.
Note
It is important to ensure the moisture content of the wood substrate is below 12% / 14% before application and the application must be made in a warm, dry area. Ensure the wood is dry before application.
Always mix tins thoroughly to ensure the product is well mixed. ES/VFR Clear Primer and ES/VFR Clear Fire Protection Coating will look milky during application, but will dry clear.
Application onto new wood – ensure the area is dust free. All products can be applied by roller, brush or spray.
Application over existing paint, varnish or stain – ensure the surface is thoroughly clean, sound and well adhered, check for adhesion and abrade to provide a key if necessary.
NB: The coverage on the first coat could vary according to the density or type of timber. For suitable applications, contact our Technical Department. Trials in small areas must always be carried out prior to full application, as colour performance varies according to substrate structure. Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Class 1/0 & EN Class B System for Wood (Exterior) over existing paint may discolour the appearance.

Upon completion of the three stage application of the sytem on new bare timber,does overcoating with a water based stain such as 'Ronseal One Coat' compromise the Class 0 certification of the product? If so is it possible to apply the water based stain to the new timber first then once dry apply the three stage system on top which as it is clear will allow the colour of the stain to show through whilst still maintaining Class 0 Certification? |

The manufacturer have confirmed that applying a water based stain prior to or after application of Envirograf ES/VFR Clear Class 1/0 & EN Class B System for Wood (Exterior) will not compromise the fire rating properties of the product. | |
