ColourPicker Explained

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

*Colours are sold in the nearest tin size but actual paint volume per tin may vary up to 10% depending on colour

Colour reproduction of the Products on the Site is limited by the technology used to deliver web pages and by the colour representation of Customer’s own monitor and computer set-up. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our Products but we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on Customer’s monitor’s display will accurately reflect the colour of the Product on delivery. We recommend that Customer first purchases the smallest Product available or access an industry standard colour chart in person (and not digitally) to ensure that the colour is acceptable for its purposes.

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from grease and loose or flaking material that may impair adhesion
Do not apply to shiny surfaces
Scaffolding must be independently tied to allow for uninterrupted application
Any faults in the substrate, particularly those that can lead to moisture penetration, must be rectified or can affect the finish quality
Mask around the area where the material is to be applied
Masking tape must be removed before the material has dried out
Ensure all BS standards are carried out through application
Loose or friable substrates can be treated with Wethertex ST1 Quick Dry Stabilising Primer prior to application
Masonry surfaces affected by bacterial, algal and fungal growth should be treated with Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash prior to use

Primer

New surfaces - 10-50% dilution with clean water depending on the substrate

Application

Stir the product thoroughly and do not contaminate
For the best results apply by brush, lamb’s wool roller or spray
Application tool type and quality may influence the finished appearance
Apply liberally and avoid overspreading
To avoid dampness and discolouration painting should be avoided below DPC or within 150mm of ground level
AP77 can be diluted between 10-50% depending on the suction of the substrate

Storage

When stored unopened in a dry place at temperatures above 5ºC, shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture
If you have any left over product, ensure that you close the tin by replacing the lid firmly and securely and store in a safe place
Protect from frost
To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position

Tool Cleaning

All equipment must be washed with clean, cold water immediately after use
Waste material should not be emptied in the drainage system
Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of leftover paint
Please do not add any product into drains or watercourses

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: The coverage rate for this product is 4 to 15m² per litre per coat. On new cement based render assuming it is smooth you could expect to acheive approximately 6 to 8m² per litre for the first coat and 10 to 12m² with the second.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: This product isn't suitable for use on Lime Render substrates. Assuming the lime render is clean, dry and sound we can recommend 2 coats of Keim Soldalit-ME, with a coat of Keim Soldalit Fixativ onto any bare areas first.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Unfortunately many of the manufacturers do not produce samples, but Keim Colour Samples or Graphenstone Samples are available along with Colour Sample Sachets in a generic paint to aid choosing a suitable RAL, NCS or BS colour.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Unfortunately no, a masonry paint would not be suitable for this application. Assuming the concrete pond walls are bare, they are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Teamac Chlorvar Chlorinated Rubber Paint. The bare concrete must be treated prior to application with Coo-Var Acid Etch. The first coat of paint must be thinned 10% with Teamac Thinner 15 then 2 further coats applied unthinned. This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a gloss finish. Please note the pond must be left 14 days prior to refilling.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: No, for application to timber assuming it is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Wethertex OT25 Wood-Flex Satin Opaque Timber Paint. This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a matt finish.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: No this should be used externally, you could consider Wethertex MS11 Multi-Surface Renovation Paint. This can be used internally or externally on many substrates. This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS of BS colours in a satin finish.

	Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Two coats would be recommended when applied to a clean, dry, sound previously painted substrate prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet. The walls should be washed prior to application and Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash used to remove any algal or fungal growth.
